The course is displayed in the browser window which contains a number of panes.

Navigation buttons

At the top left hand side you have the two arrow buttons, these let you move forwards or backwards through the pages to navigate the course with ease

Contents Tree

At the left hand side, below the navigation buttons, is the contents tree, also known as the navigation menu. It holds a map of the entire course in a true view. The course is given in a number chapters, each of which contains a set of pages. Most chapters end with some exercises for you to perform.

  • You can expand the list to view pages in the chapter by clicking on the chapter title or the button.

  • You retract the expanded list to hide the pages of the chapter by clicking on the chapter title again or by clicking on the button

  • The pages can be opened by clicking on the page title or the document button.

  • The chapter of the page you are currently viewing will be expanded by default, e.g. the first chapter 'Introduction' should be expanded now.

Page Titles

Along the top of the screen, to right of the navigation menu, you will find the title bar. This gives the name of the present page, the introduction pages are titled after the chapter.

Page Content

Each page covers one topic or item. It may be split left and right into two sections, with the main content always on the left side, and additional content such as images, extra text, and extra code in the right hand section.
